For Cudi's fourth solo album, Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon, the innovative emcee brings in throwback-soul heartbreaker Raphael Saadiq and rekindles the collaborative magic with WZRD bandmate and producer Dot da Genius. Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon is the fourth studio album by American rapper Kid Cudi. The album was issued on February 25, 2014, with only few hours' notice, was first released to digital retailers such as iTunes and Google Play, by Wicked Awesome Records and Republic Records. Cleveland rapper Kid Cudi's new Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon represents his catalog in miniature: A vast, serene, often-beautiful vista of sounds—and then this guy, standing. It's been a long year since Kid Cudi's fourth album, the trippily, verbosely titled Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon. The record was almost entirely Cudi-written and Cudi-produced.
Kid Cudi and Kanye West might not be getting along so well recently, but they probably still have a wealth of material locked in their vaults. Case and point: the most recently drop of theirs together. The song is an alternate version of Cudi's 'Too Bad I Have to Destroy You Now' from his album Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon, and features a verse from Kanye that appears to be incomplete. Several times during the verse, he transitions from rapping to a hum or word slur, indicating that this is still a rough cut of the song.
Still, the lyrics that are there show a lot of promise for the incomplete song. 'I be laughing at you niggas/Taunting you niggas,' he raps. 'Surrounded by fake niggas/And fake bitches tryna get in my ear/What about gold diggers?/Yeah I got 'em.'
Sadly, it seems relations between Cudi and Kanye have soured a bit in recent months. Cudi's now-famous Twitter rant called out both Ye and Drake, alleging that they have '30 people' write their songs. Cudi also claimed he spent too long showing loyalty to people who wouldn't show it back, which many also perceived as a dig at Kanye. Although Ye reacted angrily at first, calling Cudi out during his Saint Pablo Tour, a later tour stop saw him saying that Cudi was 'the most influential artist of the last ten years.' Hopefully, this is an indication that they've moved past the animosity behind the scenes.
